Review::Revlon Colorburst Lipstick in Fuchsia

I posted last night/early this morning on my other blog that I did a bit of a haul yesterday, and this post shall be a review on the first product that I purchased, which is the Revlon Colorburst Lipstick in Shade 030 Fuchsia (by the way, if I misspelled that earlier in the other post, I'm really sorry. I'm all kinds of stupid).

Quick story: Folks were at the dentist and I was wandering around aimlessly on Watson's at Greenbelt 1 (always a dangerous thing when you're me). I was swatching the lipsticks on my hand and when I swatched this one on my hand, I saw how Felicity Smoak-esque the color was and I just went "Oh my effing goodness, I need this lipstick". So I asked the lady at the Revlon section of the store to get one from stock and bought it without even thinking. Now on to the review.

Let me start with the packaging. For something drugstore (higher-end drugstore, in my opinion), the packaging just looks so luxurious and it looks like something you give your mother or grandmother or one of your girlfriends as a gift. This lipstick, from the packaging alone, is gift-worthy. This doesn't look like those other lipsticks where it looks like a kid's toy. You take one look at this and you know that this means business.

When I applied the lipstick just moments after purchasing it (yes, I wiped off the one I was currently wearing and just let loose), the formula was just so creamy and smooth; I honestly thought I'd bought something from a luxury shop for a small fraction of a luxury price. The color was very opaque and the feeling of the application itself was just so easy because the shape of the lipstick was not like a usual lipstick where it's curved and points at the top; it's almost like an arrow-head and it's just super easy to apply.

The pink-ness is a hot almost-Barbie pink but still totally wearable to the office or to school without attracting too much attention. Let's face it, much as everyone loves reds, they're just so attention-grabbing, whereas pinks go almost unnoticed and are just overall more "girly". Reds are "womanly" and more intimidating. Pinks are like Reds' younger sister. Make sense?

Now, it's been no secret to my friends (and my mother) that I have been searching desperately for a dupe to Felicity Smoak's lipstick in Arrow. I have been obsessed with that lip color since I started watching the show, so naturally, I've done my fair share of research on what exactly does she wear?

Thought so: MAC and Makeup Forever. I don't have the heart to shell out the money for those products, so like I mentioned, I've been desperately searching for a dupe. Does this lipstick make a good dupe?

I know it's weird to have a guy gif for a lipstick review, but I'm a Whovian, and I can't help myself.

Now, for the one thing that pisses me off to no end about this lipstick: It's been discontinued.

Yup, bloody discontinued. I was only lucky enough to get one of the remaining tubes in Watson's because apparently, not a lot of people buy it. Why? I have no idea. I already know what I'm going to be doing: Saving up money and hoarding all the Colorburst Lipsticks I can find before they're gone forever. I already saw the Revlon counter in SM Makati, and there are empty holes where the Colorburst Lipsticks should be.

The lipsticks cost Php 575 (a prettier penny than I'm used to paying, but totally worth it), and I'm definitely about to empty my savings and building a war chest once school starts. I need these in my life. Revlon, on the off chance that you've stumbled upon this blog post and made it this far into my review, please just please bring back the Colorburst Lipsticks.  I beg of you.

The reviews for the rest of my recently purchased lipsticks (plus one that my mammi bought me, yay!) shall come soon-ish enough.
